LOPSA announces $1500 stipend competition for Women in Advanced Computing Summit

Date May 24, 2012

The League of Professional System Administrators (of which I'm a big fan, and a member of the Leadership Committee) has announced that they're offering a $1500 stipend to attend the 2012 USENIX Women in Advanced Computing Summit.

The stipend will be awarded to the winner of a competition consisting of two brief essays on the following topics:

  1. What outcomes do you expect from attending WiAC?
  2. What can be done to increase the number of women in the information technology workforce?

You can read more about the competition at the link above, or about the WAIC12 here.

By not making "women" a thing and treating us just like everyone else. We don't have a "redheads in computing" group and there shouldn't be a "women in computing" group
